Getting students to focus and engaging them in conversations that would get them interested in this subject has been the key. Teaching and helping others is a passion of mine. I love the feeling I get when I realize I have helped somebody solve a problem. It makes them feel accomplished, and myself as well. When I tutor, I let the student come to me with the problem, and instead of doing it for them, I will break it down into smaller steps they can do. I will use similar examples from a book or problems I make up to show them the basics of the problem. I want to provide students with a good, strong mathematical foundation. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout college I volunteered to educate school age children about egg/chick development in schools around Columbus. My first job out of college was to educate children and adults in high need areas about food science and nutrition. I then worked at a few different food science jobs while taking classes part time toward a masters in education and volunteering to tutor adults. I am currently enrolled in school full time to complete my prerequisites for the OSU M.Ed. in Biology and Chemistry.
Science and math are very difficult subjects to teach at a middle/high school level and relate to things that students identify in their world.
