During my college experience it became apparent to me that I loved how the brain worked, which led to my love for teaching, especially the at-risk population. I began working with the autistic population at a private clinic in November of 2004 while going to school full time at the University of Houston. I then decided to become a teacher, where I went to ACT Houston, to obtain my alternative certification to become a special education teacher.
