I have been teaching and tutoring people in computer usage for over 20 years now. I also used to teach computer programming in the mid 80's. I have a good understanding of mathematics and physics.
This is important stuff to learn, so I like to give an overview with specific examples on how this will apply in their everyday life. Then we go over the basics. My goal is to get the student to have a strong understanding of the material.

My experience is primarily in college lecture classes. I also tutor college students one-to-one using the concepts that they are having difficulty with. I am a certified, licensed teacher in Hawaii. I have earned 3 bachelors degrees(Business Administration, Economics, Psychology,) a masters in education, and Certificates in Education, Natural Science, Paralegal, Driver's Education, and a Professional Certificate in Education. I have been teaching and tutoring for 22 years. I have taught all core classes (Math, English, Social studies and Science, and CTE-Business/Marketing.
I love teaching. It seems children are drawn to me. I am patient and kind and love to have fun. In tutoring, I assess to where the child needs the most help and use my time where it is needed most. I believe in multiple intelligences.

Though I received my degree last June, most of my teaching experience came while I was still learning. In high school, I worked as a museum docent for after-school programs - at one point trying to convince 3rd graders that M.C. Escher's life and work were as exciting as the afternoon TV they were missing. While in college, I worked for Apple computer, teaching adults in one-on-one tutoring sessions in computer usage. My method of studying for my finals was to show up to study groups not to learn the answers, but to reinforce my own learning by explaining the relevant topics to my peers.
