through my teaching career I have had numerous workshops and professional Development in all areas in education. I have been able to combine different teaching strategies to fit the needs of my students. In Arizona I taught Fourth Grade where 80% of my studens were English Language Learners of Hispanic decent. This was a real leaning experience. I took the Dibels training which really helped my teaching techniques. Using Orton-Guillingham guidelines with the hundreds of hours of teacher training allowed my students to excel. I believe my varied experiences and a love for my profession enables me to be a Master Teacher.

As a Title I Para Educator I am responsible for working with students who need extra support in core academic areas. I teach K-4 students in a small group or classroom setting and on an individual basis. I currently have a case load of about 25 students that I see twice a day. I am responsible for planning my own lessons and corresponding with the classroom teachers to best meet the needs of the students. Additionally I participate in Child Study and ongoing Professional Development meetings.
I typically try to match my teaching style to meet the needs of the particular student(s). Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience began with my work with troubled youth in Michigan. I worked with the Fine Arts Team using the arts to teach visually. I also used positive Peer Culture for helping students to deal with their problems. I slso taught history at the school. I have 8 years experience; I worked for WSI teacher staffing for 3 yrs. and 5 yrs. for the Battle Creek School System in grades K-12 in most subjects
I create a positive atmosphere and help students to be responsible first to themselves and then to their community. I also try to make my students aware of their potiential and guide them in processing information by first understanding the context in which it is used. Then I like to use visuals in my teaching style. I prefer to start with testing of some kind to assess the developmental level of the student.

I am a published playwright and have sold over fifteen short scripts for religious one-acts to the Nashville-based Belden Street Music Company. My writing and composition skills are particularly strong, my understanding of grammar is excellent and I have worked extensively in high school English/writing classes. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from a private, Catholic university. My time there taught me to be not only determined in what I do, but also ethical. During my college years, I spent a year tutoring students in English and Psychology courses.
