I hold a wide variety of experience in both education and industry. I earned degrees in Broadcasting and Speech/Communications. With these, I worked in public relations, advertising, community college teaching and broadcasting. I was a teacher of Speech/Communications at McCook Community College in McCook Nebraska where I taught Speech and Broadcasting. I served on the Executive Council of the Nebraska Speech Communications Association six years. Currently I am the owner of a small vegetable and cattle farm.
My preferred teaching style is discussion with leadership. When the student can relate to the information through own experience or peer experience the information is better absorbed. I have taught 15 years in the Missouri public school system. I have taught fine arts, K-12, throughout my career. I have organized and taught an at-risk study hall, provided after school tutoring for 6th graders. I taught 6th grade mathmatics. and tutored reading after school. Teaching riding and horsemanship is what sparked my desire to teach. Before I became a teacher I worked with mentally challanged adults and was a job coach for individuals that had sustanined tramatic head injuries. I have 22 graduate hour in special education and have worked with special student in school and an institutional settings. I love to help student learn how to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my Junior year of high school I began to works as an Associate/Substitute preschool teacher for the Park Hill School District in Parkville, MO. I continued my work through their program during my breaks from being a student in college. On breaks, I was able to work approximately 40hrs/weeks. In spring 2008 I completed an internship in a 7th grade classroom for 4 months. In fall 2008 I completed an internship in an 8th grade classroom for 4 months. Also, in spring 2009 I am currently completing my semester of student teaching in an 8th grade classroom at Warrensburg Middle School in Warrensburg, MO.
