A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had the macroscopic view of mathematics (from basic algebra to advanced calculus) to know how everything fits together. If students could learn simply by having a textbook read to them, then there would be no need for teachers. But the effective teacher can and will make the difference in a student's ability to succeed. I apply my vast experience and knowledge to all of my lessons and provide a perspective that most teachers are not equipped to handle.

I am a recent honors graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a degree in civil and environmental engineering. This course of academic study exposed me to a broad range of upper-level mathematics, physics, and chemistry. During my college career I volunteered with a mentoring program known as Big Brother/ Big Sister to tutor elementary school students, and I also privately tutored fellow college students in Calculus I.
