A Little Bit About Me...

I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I love all people. I am an advocate of task-based learning, multiple intelligences, and the all-around inductive/constructivist approach to learning. I am a firm believer in the idea that all people have the same innate capacity to learn, but that this is manifested in different ways. This is particularly important because I beleive a good teacher should be able to discover the individual and specific ways that a student relates or acquires information best (visually, aurally, kinesthetically etc.) and can then take that information and develop appropriate excercises and teaching materials to help maximize that student's learning experience. The style of teaching that I use is experience. I believe that people learn best when they work through and actually practice the issues. For example, in mathematics I believe it is very important to practice math problems. Not to memorize the answers but the memorize the formula for working through a problem. When they are working through the problems I try and answer any questions that they may have, so that they develop speed and accuracy, that way when a test comes they are fully equipped with the skills they need to get a good grade in a relatively quick manor.
