While attending college I was apart of many different study groups. In such study groups we would teach each other the information we needed to learn. Through this I interacted with many students teaching many things in many different styles. When I was in upper level courses I would assist the underclassmen with their homework so that they could grasp the information.
The style of teaching that I use is experience. I believe that people learn best when they work through and actually practice the issues. As a life-long student, I aspire to a life of teaching. While an undergraduate at St. Olaf College, I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills as a writing center tutor and ESL mentor. My goal in studying linguistics is to become a professional ESL teacher. I am very much interested in language development at all levels, but especially in nonnative language development.
