I taught and tutored in Japan for 21 years. I was at universities, colleges, corporations, and conversation schools. I was an officer of JALT and published through their journals. In the states I have three online reviews. They can be found at Alibris.com, Amazon.com and Dorrance Publishers. In the states I have had a variety of tutoring experiences and found them interesting and worthwhile. The main aspect of tutoring is that for each individual each situation is different. And I do not consider myself to be against public schooling or against homeschooling. The US teaching arena is much more competitive outwardly than Japan, so sometimes one steps on sharp rocks and tries not to slip. But so far, so good..My students have been successful and reached their goals.. I am keen on students taking part actively in any lesson be it at high level academics or beginning literacy.

I am a seasoned veteran in Education. I taught for 28 years, and was a school counselor for 7 years. For the past 2 1/2 years I have been a substitute teacher, tutor for 5th graders, and part-time counselor for PreK - 5th grade at different Elementary schools in Corpus Christi, TX. I also taught Study Skills, Test Preparation Skills, and Organizational Skills to my students. I am Special Education Certified, and know how to work with students with different disabilities. This includes ADHD/ADD problems, Dyslexia, Reading comprehension, Autism, and many others. My daughter is Autistic, has a learning disability, and is Bi-Polar, so I have personal experience with people with disabilities. At present I am tutoring a College Student who is Autistic. I have the patience and understanding plus skills to tutor anyone.
