I have a BS in Wildlife Biology, with honors, which gives me an excellent background in math and science. I have worked as a wildlife field technician over the last four years including a position with the Northern Divide Grizzly Bear Project. I have volunteered for the Watershed Education Network, a non-profit organization that educates young students about the importance of water quality and introduces them to stream monitoring science. In the spring of 2010, I volunteered for the Missoula International School (MIS) as a middle school math tutor. The style of teaching that I use is experience. I believe that people learn best when they work through and actually practice the issues. For example, in mathematics I believe it is very important to practice math problems. Not to memorize the answers but the memorize the formula for working through a problem. When they are working through the problems I try and answer any questions that they may have, so that they develop speed and accuracy, that way when a test comes they are fully equipped with the skills they need to get a good grade in a relatively quick manor.
