My comments on tutoring Florida Writes : For the past 5 years I have worked with 4th grade students in school classrooms as well as tutored for FCAT Writes test. I have many tips and techniques to use when tutoring a student in writing.

As an English major in Education at the University of Alabama, I took many specialized courses in writing and reading. I learned many techniques for teaching creative writing and reading comprehension skills. For the past five years I have tutored students in FCAT writes techniques, reading skills and comprehension, and basic mathematics. In my position of Title I teaching assistant I taught small groups (6 or less students) and one-on-one reading, phonics, and comprehension as well as creative writing.
I absolutely love teaching and working with children. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I started teaching in the fall of 1985 in Tampa. After that first year I moved and I taught a few years in Ohio. In 1989 I moved to Brevard County and worked as an elementary school teacher. I received my degree in Educational Leadership in 1996. I now tutor and work part time with small groups.
My belief is that all students want to learn. We as teachers must find the way they need to learn. I truly love to teach. I try to relate to the whole child and find which learning style meets his or her needs. I am extremely proud of the response I have received over the pass 20 years.

I also realize one type of style may not be the best for every subject matter. After having 3 children of my own, I can say without a doubt that every child is different and what may work for one will not work for the other.
