Every student is different. They all have different experiences and learning styles. Sometimes teachers can just try to explain concepts and ideas the way that they understand things. I like to first ask students questions to help me understand where they are, what they specifically do and do not understand. This helps me to figure out how to help the student. Also in my experience, teachers teach only one method of solving a specific problem and that way may not be easy for that student. Having two wonderful elementary teachers, I was inspired to become a teacher. I graduated in 1988 with an Elementary Education degree.
