A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Secondary Earth and Space Science in 2001. Since that time, I have been teaching secondary classes at the same school which include: Earth science, astronomy, geology, transition mathematics, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and computer applications. I earned my Master of Science in Science Education from Montana State University in 2008. My thesis was on the effects of teaching through the multiple intelligences by incorporating art with the sciences. I have also worked as a homebound instructor in such subjects as English, literature, biology, American history, French, and music.

After getting my degree in Printing/Desktop Publishing/Graphic Design, I ran my own successful business for 11 years. Tutoring was my link to the creative challenge of showing people a way to enter the world of books, or create a monthly newsletter for their charity, or publish a catalog of services available to those in need. I taught reading and math skills to K-3 in a public school setting after moving cross-country for health needs. I have a background in math, grammar, phonetics, and reading. I received a high excellence grade in math and physics courses and was preselected by math instructors to tutor any math course through Calculus I and to grade Calculus I and Math for Elementary School Teachers.
