I feel that teaching will not only inform young minds to think differently or make them more motivated to learn. But to allow one to master his or her knowledge in general, teaching allows oneself to fully understand the subject in their own minds. Young minds such as children are easily impacted by an adult, which I feel that that should be influenced with positive, enjoyable learning. Allowing a young mind to like learning or studying will allow them to become very motivated individuals in life. I have taught ESL in China for more than 4 years. Through this experience I have learned that education is mind opening. This is a wonderful thing to cultivate in students and witness the outcome. The ability to form an opinion based on knowlege of the subject, and put it forward, either verbally or in writing, is the essence of education in my opinion. Through my experience in teaching Listening, Speaking and Academic Writing as a second language, I know that L1 students can grasp and use the information and ideas they are taught to benefit themselves and society.

For the previous 12 years I have enjoyed a career in education. I have taught a variety of subject matter from Reading, History, Science, Math and even Spanish for grade levels ranging from Prek to 11th. I am currently certified in 2 states for Elementary, Middle School and High School grades for Special Education and Language Arts and History.
