A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked quite a lot with elementary school children, whether it be in or outside of work. I have done independent tutor work, mainly in the fields of Art and Language Arts. In the past I had a long-term job in which I was required to interact with young children, and I did so willingly. For two years in a row, I taught a Beginner's Guitar course for children and the feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive. I enjoy very much seeing things "click" with students, particularly young ones. It inspires me not only do teach well but also to always learn more myself.

I enjoy working with young children, and helping them to understand the subject and how to apply it in their daily life. My overall goal is to help the child understand for their own good. It defeats the purpose if the child can do math or english while I am sitting right next to them. Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently. Understanding the fact that children learn differently is crucial. The teacher must be able to adapt to the child's learning style. Being currently enrolled in one of the Top 20 schools in the state of Michigan, learning is something that comes to me as second nature. Math, English, Science, Foreign Language and History are the five required subjects in the Troy School District, and they offer hundreds of other courses to excel the student body into a wide range of future careers.
