Elementary Phonics is one of my top subjects! Taught phonics to all four of my children (two of which were foreign speaking adopted from Russia and one of whom was dyslexic) until they became proficient readers and now love reading. Also was a literacy volunteer for 12 years for an adult reader. I have home schooled my children for 16 years and all four are in college now. Phonics was used to teach them to read. My youngest learned to read at a young age just watching her older siblings being given phonics lessons (from her high chair in the kitchen).

I am currently a Special Education Teacher within the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years. Prior to my employment there I was a building substitute within the Albany City School District as well as a certified BOCES substitute approved through many schools throughout the Capital Region.
