I believe in inquiry based learning where students learn new things by forming questions that they want to answer. When working on a problem I encourage students to come up with questions that they want to answer, to make lists of things they need to know, and then to think of an attack plan to complete the math or science problem. I am an extremely patient teacher and I work hard to make sure that every concept is understood before moving onto the next one. I began working with children who were diagnosed with autism my first year of college (I did this for 7 years). I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched them grow as people. I realized through these experiences that I wanted to help people learn and become accomplished. Later, I decided to student teach in graduate school. I taught three different writing courses over three years, including this past year as a part-time instructor.
