Experience Summary
I have a bachelor degree in Chemistry from Colorado College and I have also taken a large number of math courses at the undergraduate level (Calculus 1, 2, and 3, Linear Algebra, number theory, and mathematical models in biology). I have worked as a college tutor for 2 years while completing my degree and I currently teach middle school science.
Teaching Style
I believe in inquiry based learning where students learn new things by forming questions that they want to answer. When working on a problem I encourage students to come up with questions that they want to answer, to make lists of things they need to know, and then to think of an attack plan to complete the math or science problem. I am an extremely patient teacher and I work hard to make sure that every concept is understood before moving onto the next one. I believe that each student learns differently and I am very willing to tailor my teaching style to independently meet the needs of any student.
