I have spent the last seven years as lecturer in Music Theory at Southeastern Louisisana University. I have tutored in Music Theory while at this post at back through undergraduate school. I have taught private lessons in piano by both Suzuki and Traditional methods for over 20 years. I believe my experience in writing a thesis and articles in my field would qualify me to tutor in academic writing. Private lesson teaching is my favorite teaching. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in marine biology in 2002 and then worked as a research biologist for two and a half years before returning to school to pursue my master’s degree. I believe that my hands-on scientific experiences combined with my academic background allow me to convey difficult concepts to students. I have studied Spanish for over ten years and German for over five years. I have a BA from UCF in foreign language combination. I was a teacher's assistant for a second grade class in 1990 at Winegard Elementary School. I was a hearing-impaired interpreter at a YMCA youth camp for one week in 1990 at Tallahassee. For my last employer, I interpreted Spanish, German, and sign language for cast members and guests on a daily basis for almost 16 years. Additionally, I have tutored math, reading, and spelling for my nieces and nephews at the elementary level.
