A Little Bit About Me...

As a classroom aid, I was responsible for implementing the curriculum developed by the teacher. I also had the opportunity to work one-on-one with students who needed additional assistance. As an assistant teacher, my duties included but were not limited to curriculum development, facilitating parent teacher conferences, and accurate record keeping of the student's progress. To date, I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology and two minors in sociology and justice studies. I also have a Masters degree in Public Administration; all of which have contributed to my proficiency in the areas of math, history and public policy as well as excellent communication and writing skills.

As an instructor, I encourage my students to try something new and to make many mistakes so they can learn from them. I work hard with my students and try to get them to think outside of their current knowledge into new ideas and concepts. My style is extremely informal, with much practical discussions inserted to make learning understandable.
My experience is primarily through study, trying, making mistakes, learning from my mistakes and trying again. I push my ability to learn and my level of knowledge in all that I do. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is extremely hands-on. I have found through my coaching and swim lesson experience that I relate well to kids and by approaching the situation in a fun and friendly way I believe I reach the children more effectively. I have been extremely successful in teaching swim lessons and have helped beginners to reach elite athlete status. I employ the same tactics in the classroom and was a very successful mentor to troubled kids through the Be a T.I.G.E.R! program at Clemson University.
