As a mathematics major, I worked in the math lab all four years of my college experience. I would tutor others with their math and help students study for exams. I have also tutored in junior high settings and this past summer I tutored a young girl in 7th grade math. I have also tutored while in high school.
I love math. I find it fun, challenging, and very interesting. When I tutor students, I try to portray my excitement for the subject so they see that it is not intimidating and so they are more willing to work to solve a problem. I always try and connect their interests to the material, so it is more than just words and starts to be interesting. Chemistry is scary to many people, because they try to memorize, it’s too intricate remember everything. I teach the student to understand why and how substances react or behave.
