My comments on tutoring Science : Received a bachelor of science degree in environmental resource management. I have taken and had to learn a variety of different sciences at the college level in order to earn my degree.

Since graduating from college I have been learning more and more about the natural world around us. I have spent time as a professional biologist performing a wide array of tasks that encompass chemistry and engineering with aspects to biological studies. Field Biology and Fisheries biology are my strongest suits, but I also have experience teaching Marine Biology to students visiting to the Florida Keys. We would teach the scientific method as well as lab protocol and field ecological concepts to students during their stay. I have ample experience in both teaching as well as professional biology in order to be a great tutor.

Math Can be Fun!

My teaching style is for the student to be methodical with their work and identify key words. I offer correction but also like to be patient to truly understand which part gives the student a struggle.
I have been tutoring in mathematics from basic elementary math to Calculus I for the last 10 years. Studying engineering showed me how meticulous I had to be with my study habits and I am now able to teach other students these same tips. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing the "Light Bulb" come on when a student grasps a concept. I tend to defer to the students learning style and teach to their need and understanding. Over the years, I have found that this a most dynamic and effective means of imparting information. In addition, the student is more apt to retain information when taught in this manner.
I have been fortunate to teach students with Special Needs and Learning Challenges. In addition, I was able to teach Adult Basic education to inmates at a state prison. In general however I tend to back up and work on the material that the student already is familiar and comfortable with. Once some review on the known material has been done I like to begin moving toward the material that is currently being reviewed.
