I have taught U.S. Government as a classroom teacher and as an instructor in a Learning Lab working with students one on one. 20+ years experience. I have taught high school subjects in English and the Social Sciences as a public school teacher for over 25 years both in the classroom and in Learning Labs where I worked one on one with students. I am currently a tutor volunteer for School on Wheels in downtown Los Angeles which serves the homeless population, as well as still a full-time teacher. I have taken AP US Government and Politics, and scored a 4 on the exam. I usually tend to go over the student's prior classwork just to see if there was any problems understanding parts of the lesson. Then I would move on to completing the homework with the student. If we have time left over, I make practice problems similar to the homework problems or preview the upcoming classwork so the student has a head start on the material and knows what to expect. Tests or quizzes are also prepared for extensively, and I would usually make problems that would cover the topics or use study guides/the textbook and review over the lessons.
