Experience Summary
I majored in English Literature and Writing at UCLA, with a focus on British Pre-Reformation Classics, as well as Shakespeare's 1st and 2nd portfolios. I also won 1st Place in the university's Westwind Writing Competition, taking home top prize for Non-Fiction entry. I have experience working on the school newspaper, The Daily Bruin, and extensive journalism experience. Finally, I co-founded The Writers' Den, a school-based organization dedicated to teaching English and Writing to inner-city students (Compton, Inglewood especially).
Teaching Style
Mine is a creative and lively, interactive teaching style, focusing on playing off of children's interests and strengths. I make it a point to get to know the students I work with -- background, education, hobbies and lifestyle.
