A Little Bit About Me...

As a College graduate, I worked very hard to finish my Masters degree in education. I have two degrees, BS in Psychology and a Masters in Special Education K-12. Therefore, my expertise in Helping students with Varying Exceptionalities. In my research, I have learned creative strategies to teach students. During, the last 2 years I have tutored students in basic math, reading, writing, science, and spanish. I am bilingual which is my greatest attribute as an instructor.
My experience as a tutor is with students that have learning and motivational challenges. I make sure that students become engaged in their school work by creating fun lesson plans. I have taken many courses over an extended period of time. In 2002 I entered the Surgical Technology program at Jefferson Technical College; I managed a 4.00 and missed only a couple of days. During the many testing phases of the program I stayed and helped get other students through the program, I was commended on my drive and determination to help other students, all while maintaining my grade average. I pulled down some of the highest scores in the programs history. This didn't go unnoticed, as shortly after graduation I was asked by the Dean of Allied Health and Surgical Technology Program Coordinator to come back and teach. I taught all of the prerequisite core classes, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development and Medical Terminology.
