Phonics deals with pronounciation and word combinations! This skill must be practiced daily! I taught English for a few years and really enjoyed teaching the students about the world of writing. I specialized in the four types of writing: Narrative, Descriptive, Expository, and Persuasive. I also strongly believe in developing strong grammar skills because they comprise well written wrting pieces. My degree in Psychology has a strong basis in Behavior Analysis. This is what I will be getting my Master’s degree in starting in the Fall. My teaching style mainly focuses on positive reinforcement. I use positive reinforcement in order to increase a behavior of choice. The behaviors we want to increase can range from working more math problems, reading more, increase doing home work, increase studying, etc. An instructional method will be used as well in order increase their knowledge of the subject and then positive reinforcement will increase their confidence and motivation which is necessary for success.
