Government is one of my top subjects!

I prefer to use current real world content as a way to demonstrate historical ideas in an easier context to understand. I believe that students benefit more from this type of instruction because it can put difficult concepts in a way that is easier to relate to.
I recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education. I find the Socratic method most useful, and with children this translates into making the subject (i.e. German grammar) seem like a puzzle that, with some effort, can be solved. I think students are best served when they can discover these answers for themselves.
