My teaching style is that of an energetic and enthusiastic mentor. I listen allot, work very heard to establish rapport and trust, and work with them where they need the help. I convey my own love of learning and how important reading comprehension, writing skills, tha ability to convey one's self in both writing and speech is, and how much they will need these skills to get ahead in life. I try to "partner" with them to help them to move forward. I try to help my students realize accomplishment, however small, at each step of the way. Empowerment is what many students need. A Little Bit About Me...

While in college, I spent my time home from school substitute teaching through Frederick County Public Schools. After graduation from American University, I continued to substitute and in the fall of 2005 I took a part-time position at a middle school, teaching Theatre Arts and Music Performance Lab. While teaching, I began my teaching certification through the Maryland State Department of Education, where I completed a course called Inclusion: Making it Happen. I also taught dance at Dance Unlimited and Elite Feet Dance studios in addition to working at numerous children's theatre camps throughout Maryland and West Virginia.
