My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I am a certified secondary math teacher in Kentucky with a professional degree (ABD) in curriculum and instruction with an emphases in mathematics education and assessment.I have 16 years of high school teaching experience and taught Algebra 2 several times over those years. I also served as math department chair, a mentor teacher, and primary curriculum writer. I was blessed with several awards, including Teacher of the Year, Excellence in Education(from Emerson Electric) and the Loeb Award (from St. Louis Science Center for excellence in math/science education).

After 16 years of high school classroom teaching experience in Missouri, I decided to pursue my doctorate in education at UK. I'm certified in secondary math grades 7-12 in both Missouri and Kentucky and have 4 years of college level teaching as well. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics since the age of 15. I started working at a tutoring center where the student's ages ranged from 4-15. I then moved on to college where I studied math and computer science. I was a teaching assistant for Calculus I and II. My responsibilities included leading group tutorials and working one on one in the tutoring center on campus. At graduate school I taught Calculus I, II, and III as a standalone lecturer. After I graduated from the University of Chicago I was an assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have been tutoring students of all ages since I was in high school. I began by tutoring my own peers in math and social studies. I would also tutor children from 1st grade on up in all subjects. Once in college, I tutored college students and younger in many fields, primarily mathematics courses. Learning can be fun...if done the right way

I lived my whole life in Damascus, Syria. Coming to the States every summer was very interesting for me, having the best of both worlds, my mother being from Kentucky, and my father syrian. Throughout my life, i never understood the value of being bilingual. Now i am very grateful for my upbringing and the education i was given. Arabic is a hard yet beautiful language, and one that will be spoken by all soon. I studied in the International school of Choueifat for 10 years, and for my senior year in high school, moved to a boarding school in Brummana,Lebanon. Sadly Arabic was not taught in that school, and thats when i came to appreciation with the language we all take for granted.
