My comments on tutoring Math : 20 years of teaching HS and MS

15 Years as High School Math teacher and 15 years as College Instructor. ! Math is one of my top subjects! Teaching is an Art, not any person can be a good teacher. My comments on tutoring Math : Through Middle School level

I love to incorporate art and sensory experiences into everything I do to really activate the brain. The "Drill and Kill" is very rarely appropriate, so I tailor every approach individually. What works for one student may not work with another. My formal training includes many intervention types and experience with multiple programs and curricula, so I have a large pool from which to draw...then we get creative! My style REALLY aims for those over-arching foundational skills like critical thinking, thought organization, and problem solving. I will also track and provide data to monitor progress and hold myself accountable for effectiveness.

I saw that my children was not getting the education in the school system that I desired for them. I had wonderful teachers in school and Math was my favorite subject. I am now a degreed, homeschool mom of a 12th grader and a 9th grader - this is our 4th year. I have been a practicing Math Tutor for the past 15 years and tutor in Basic Math through Algebra 2.
