Experienced high school and middle school math tutor

I have taught high school math for the past 4 years involving Algebra I and Algebra II ( at various levels) and Geometry and Pre-Calculus. My teaching style is to review the fundamentals. If I find deficiencies, I address these first. I then introduce the subject core using applications that the student can relate to. I get students to participate in solving problems by working through the steps in turn. I keep track of student preparation for accreditation by giving home work assignments. While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics. Also, the quantity of lab reports I have written has given me an advantage in writing non-technical reports along with technical reports. I have worked as a college math privately and through other companies.
My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn.
