Drama is one of my top subjects! I have many years of theatrical performances as well as a degree from American Musical and Drama Academy (AMDA)in New York, NY. I have traveled all over the world performing, directing, and producing various theatrical performances. I am also an experienced Talent Agent that knows what it takes to achieve success in the film and modeling industry.

I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. By impowering the student with good base fundamentals, my students find it easier to link concepts together.
I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students i ... read more

Drama is one of my top subjects! I've been a drama or theatre tutor in the past. It's one of the most fun subjects to help someone learn in.

I recently graduated with a double major in theatre and public relations. I've been doing both for 5 years. In theatre I have been both on and backstage for numerous productions as well as assisted three Acting I classes throughout my college career. I've directed, stage managed, acted, designed, built, and teched over 20 shows in total. In public relations, I've written press releases, news articles, made media press kits, interned at a non-profit organization where I created marketing materials with InDesign and Photoshop.
With acting or theatre, I like learning my subjects style of learning and going from there. It's very easy to coach someone through an acting exercise once you know the way that they learn the best. In Public relations, it is a bit harder to figure out the best way to teach each person, because it is a more straightforward, fact based art.

I teach the basic concepts of acting through Stanislavski and Chekhov. I focus on character development as well as scene analysis. When analyzing a play or story, I focus on the basic concepts such as inciting incidents, major dramatic question, climax, the point of attack, resolution, the theme, and characters. I work with the student so he/she can find these elements and talk about them and expound on them. I work as fast or as slow as the student needs.
I earned my A.A. in Theatre Arts at College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. I then moved to Lakeland and earned my B.A. in Theatre Performance at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Last summer I was an assistant teacher for the summer camp at the Civic Theatre in Ocala, Florida.

Stefany Rodriguez: The tutor for you! (Wow that was lame...)

I have a lot of patience when it comes to teaching. Also I believe that a good way to learn is not so much in theory, but rather a hands on kind of technique. So, I love talking and giving examples, instead of just reading directly from books and so on.
I am Stefany Rodríguez and I just moved from Puerto Rico all the way to Florida. I graduated highschool and now am studying Drama at Valencia college. More About This Tutor...

Hello, I have been a teacher in central Florida for 6 years. I have always taught at the middle school leve, although my student teaching was done at the High school level. Prior to becoming a teacher I served 5 years in the U.S. Navy. I have also worked with Juinor Acheivement and the Boys and Girls club of America.
My belief is in the child. I am extremely patient and loving. The child sets the pace at which we learn and we would not move on to the next subject until the child completely understands the material.

In my college curriculum and internships, I experienced and observed a great deal about people and various styles of processing information. That is, every person has a rather unique way of learning. I would think the most important point to tap into, when tutoring someone, would be to discover how he/she best learns and on what levels. My strongest subject is English and grammatical skills. I have a high degree of creativity and I am flexible and patient. The key focus in my curriculum (Therapeutic Recreation) was to discover what makes a person come alive, what is his/her passion, and to design a plan with achievable goals to enable that person to attain a higher level of morale/success.
I initially try to find what he/she is struggling with, and what strengths and weaknesses are present. I allow the person to ask questions in a fluid, spontaneous, "let's see as we tack ... read more

I highly value my hands-on, real-life experience raising, guiding, and educating my gifted daughter, who has excelled beyond my expectations. This has been an exceptionally challenging and immensely vital role that ranks equal in importance with working in a traditional classroom and/or tutoring venue. I was active in her public classrooms throughout elementary school as Art Mom and in a variety of other capacities as her teachers' needs arose. I was also active in PTA, Field Days, Fall & Spring Festivals, etc. In middle school I was active with several "campus clubs" after school; and when my daughter was in high school I was Dance Team Mom, and helped the girls on the team keep their grades up through encouragement and offers of help with their studies. Prior to raising my daughter, I volunteered as a Sunday School teacher at church, a church camp counselor, a group facilitator for hig ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree while working full time. I also continued to pursue employment that enabled me to work on my own. I have tutored not only my child to become an A/B student but also worked with another student, voluntarily, who was struggling in school. In today's work environment whether you strive to go to college or become a tradesperson your ability to learn is paramount. Having a tutor or coach to assist the student can be a rewarding experience for the student as well as the teacher.
I love the learning process and the excitement of success. I believe that not all students learn the same way and am commited to finding the connection that will make the child that I tutor successful. I live for the "ah ha" moment when we both realize that the information has been learned and retained.

In May of 2005, I graduated with a BA in Music from California Baptist University. Through my extensive studies and focus, I have gained a broad range of knowledge in each core subject. Over the past year I have tutored students in various subjects including Algebra, Geometry, US History, English, Writing Skills, Study Skills, and basic Elementary skills. My students have ranged from the ages of 6 to 16 years of age. I have also been working as a substitute teacher for the past year.
As a teacher and tutor, my goal is to give children the one-on-one attention they need, while increasing their level of understanding. I believe that it is important to incorporate creativity and excitement into learning. Many children have the ability to learn difficult subjects, but lack focus. It is important to find methods that work for each student as an individual. I have a great deal of patienc ... read more

At a Wall Street bank, I trained new hires in the proper transmission of Telex and SWIFT messages. I later moved to SR&D as a Programmer Analyst. I worked in the creation and maintenance of programs needed by the bank. For 12 years, I recruited and trained independent salespeople, while conducting my own demonstrations. My income averaged upwards of $50k annually. From 1998 to 2008, I worked in an overnight freight setting as a supervisor where I was responsible for orientation and training of new hires. I reported extensively via email, spreadsheets, and on the ASR 400 system. Currently, I am in the Educator Preparation Institute where I am in the last months of qualification as a Florida "out-of-field" teacher.
I believe that students will be more inclined to pay attention and remember if they are having fun. I try to put some fun in everything I teach. I have designed ... read more

I believe in "Yes, You Can!", instead of "No, You Can't." Positive reinforcement and an emphasis upon disciplinary "best practices" can fertilize the seeds of personal and academic growth. In particular, I believe in focusing upon HOW a student learns. For instance, if a student learns visually, I like to tailor learning strategies toward that student's strength.
My educational background is stellar. The most important tool that I have acquired during all of those years, however, is NOT memorization, NOT spelling or grammar - it's the ability to THINK. Looking at the "Big Picture" enables me to see beyond the immediate problem, to find long-term, sustainable solutions. This skill extends across disciplines--whether they be English, mathematics, history or Spanish.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and watching children learn. I do believe that all children can learn and should be given an opportunity to succeed. Once I attended a Teacher training where the speaker talked about how all children can learn, but they have different learning styles. I agree that each child learns different and deserves a chance to learn and be taught the manner in which they can learn. I believe and often teach students that education is the key to their future and no one should deny you an education. I am a caring teacher and parent. I have had much success in the classroom and as a tutor. Presently I tutor for another local company in Ocala. But I welcome a chance, once again to tutor a student in their home environment. I have found the success rate is greater when students are in their own environment. I want to make a difference in a child's life and give them a fair chance at lif ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I have a Masters Degree in Education with a broad base of subjects which I have taught. In Language Arts I most often taught Composition and American Literature althought I have experience in related areas such as Poetry, Speech, Creative Writing, and English Literature. In the Social Studies area, I specialized in American History but have also taught Civics, Economics, and Art History as well as Life Skills classes. I am currently preparing to teach a 10 week session at my Church on the History and Traditions of the Methodist Church.
While I am a firm and "no-nonsense" teacher, I make every effort to help the student enjoy the material. My goal is for the student to not only learn the needed material but at the same time, discern how the material is meaningful to each of them personally. I believe "connecting and relating" are key to retaining information.
