I believe a solid foundation is the key th success.

I began working with pre-k age group as a lead teacher for the four year olds room. After leaving that placement I started working with high school aged students as a substitute. Working with these young adults reinforced my belief that if a student does not have the basic skills learned early in their education, it is very difficult to go back and relearn them. I have worked with all age groups over the last seven years. I enjoy the elementary age level the most because I believe that a solid foundation is the key to successful learning.

From a very early age, I have always been connected with teaching children. I knew that this was what I wanted to do, influence a child’s life, and there couldn’t be a better way to do it. I believe all students are able to learn given the tools and knowledge. I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. I graduated with a 3.35 QPA from Slippery Rock University in May of 2015! I have completed reading instructional courses in K-6th elementary education as well as courses in literature and reading assessment.
