After one year of service, I was asked to be the Chair of the Reading department. As the instructor for Read 180, I developed students' reading abilities who were far below school and district standards. Using a set curriculum based on computer, large group and small group discussion, I balanced classwork and themed topics to assist students in overcoming reading difficulties.
