I recently graduated from NSU with a BS in Chemistry as well as minors in Biology and Math. I have very good writing skills not only because of writing lab reports but I worked for the university in the community relations office. I helped write many letters and plans detailing events we had. I have tutored fellow college students in math and science for the past 4 years. While in high school, I discovered my love for math and began tutoring classmates in that area. My interest in writing developed during my educational career at The University of Tulsa, where I had courses in advanced exposition and argumentation and writing for the professions along with literature classes in the areas of Russian and British Literature of the 18th Century, Eastern Literature, and Greek Literature. Life and destiny urged me to earn a teacher's certification in Texas, where I later worked as an ESL 4th-5th grade teacher in the Waco (Texas) Independent School District for three years. I started tutoring part time in 2004 and have continued this throughout college. I worked as a math tutor for tulsa community college part time during the summer. I have earned over 190 hours of college credit, I have two degrees, and I am only 15 hours away from a chemical engineering degree. I am very adaptive to students learning style. I usually spend the first ten minutes of our first meeting figuring out what the student is struggling with and how to best meet their needs. I try to teach students more how to think analytical more so then just solving problems because it is more beneficial to the student. I feel that if I can teach the student how to read theorems, understand concepts, then problems just become easy at that point.
