A Little Bit About Me...

I am certified to teach secondary mathematics and social studies by the state of OHIO. I also enjoy teaching college students and tutoring on a weekly basis. I teach for the students to learn and to enjoy the learning process. I am satisfied when I see the students are able to grasp the concepts on their own and see how the application works. I have worked with a variety of children from kindergarten to high school and college levels. I am an educator who does make a difference in my students lives and I love teaching.
As an Ivy league graduate, I was driven to acheive a high level of excellence in education. I have earned a bachelor degree in education and masters degree in education with a major in mathematics. While I draw much of my knowledge from my university education in physics and mathematics, the majority of my teaching experience is drawn from the world of corporate retail management. I have trained employees of all ages and backgrounds in both store operations and product facts. I possess good communication skills, both spoken and written, that have been sharpened through collaborative work in physics and individual work in sales.
Every person has a unique background and set of experiences that he or she brings to the learning experience. It is difficult, at best, for the student to correctly assess how his or her experiences affect the learning process. Thus, the burden is on me, the instructor, to determine how a student learns, and adjust my teaching methods to meet the student's needs.
