I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember. I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. Every person has a unique background and set of experiences that he or she brings to the learning experience. It is difficult, at best, for the student to correctly assess how his or her experiences affect the learning process. Thus, the burden is on me, the instructor, to determine how a student learns, and adjust my teaching methods to meet the student's needs.

My passion is sharing my knowledge with others. I studied at Kent State in Kent, Ohio. While at Kent I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, and a minor in English with extensive course work in business. Following undergraduate study, I ventured on to complete a Master of Arts in Physical Education. My concentration was Therapeutic Recreation with a focus in gerontology. I taught a class during my graduate assistanceship and acted as a teaching assistant to three professors.
Me teaching style is similar to my leadership style, democratic. I like to have students explain what they are thinking when approaching a problem. This way, it is possible to determine where the breakdown may be. Examples, definitions, and sometimes taking a step back can make a significant difference when attempting to move forward. A strong base is vital.
