I am a hands-on, visual learner, but not everyone is the same. I am able to adapt to each child's specific learning style. If I am explaining something and the student is unable to grasp the concept, I want them to feel completely comfortable asking me to explain it in a different way. I like to be able to know the student a little more personal level, to understand their way of thinking. That way I can think of ways that will hopefully help them overcome the obstacles they are facing.
I am a recent graduate from Purdue University - Calumet. I majored in English Literature and plan on obtaining my teaching certificate in the state of Florida. I have not had much experience. It was from this experience that I chose to go to college to become a teacher. I have a degree in Elementary Education and am ESOL certified. English has always been my best subject. It was natural for me to major in English Education when I decided to go back to college. I believe that when I teach English, I make it fun but most importantly, understandable. I love reading and reviewing the different genres that this subject covers, especially short stories and novels.
