I graduated from Frostburg State University with two bachelor degrees, BS in Geography and BS in Earth Science. I have tutored students in college level geography classes for two years through the Tutoring Center on Frostburg State's campus. In addition, I developed the Geography Help Group which provided assistance to students in upper-level geography and earth science courses including, but not limited to, Cartography, Research Methods in Geography, Surface Water Hydrology, Geology, Soils, and GIS. I am passionate about encouraging young people to achieve and surpass their full potential academically and personally. My experience as a Young Life Leader has given me the joy of mentoring high school students for 5 years. I have taught students ranging from different levels of Gardner's Multiple Intelligences as well as varying socioeconomic status. Completing a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics in less than four years took dedication and excellent study skills. So far, I have only tutored people in Calculus, and Physics, but I am comfortable with Differential Equations, Discrete Math, freshman Chemistry and Biology, and pretty much anything Computer Science related at the undergraduate level. I am excellent at breaking things down and making them easy to remember. Relating the subject material to something the learner can understand is key.
