Experience Summary
Upon graduation from West Virginia University I received a BS degree in Forensic and Investigative Science with an emphasis in Chemistry and Examination. The emphasis means that I have chemistry qualifications required to perform analysis in a lab. I have taken everything from Chemistry in high school to several courses beyond Organic I and II.
I was a member of the NHS and had the responsibility of tutoring students in high school level math, chemistry, and biology. During my internship with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, I aided in teaching courses to a youth group centered around Forensics. This past semester I worked as a Teaching Assistant and taught a general organic chemistry lab.
Teaching Style
From my experience, I know that every student has the ability to learn. I believe that each student is an individual and therefore each student has a unique approach to learning. I believe the style that works the best involves an interactive and constructive environment. I try to give my students the environment to learn where they know that it is okay to be wrong and to always ask questions.
I seek to leave a positive impact on my students' lives so that I can give them the education they deserve.
