While attending Danville Area Community College from 2003 to 2005, I tutored middle school and high school students through a program called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This included individual and group tutoring sessions in all subjects. I mostly tutored in mathematics as this is my specialty. After transferring to Eastern Illinois University, I began my pursuit of a teaching certificate in secondary education with my concentration in mathematics. While at EIU, I had many experiences teaching in a classroom setting. I also occasionally tutored high school and college students in both physics and math. I have always had an interest in helping others learn new material. I have earned a BS and MS in Physics, and in the process of doing this I also did extensive coursework in Mathematics. My education has given me a thorough understanding of these two subjects. At Georgia Tech, I worked as a teaching assistant in Mathematics, teaching recitation sections and holding office hours in which students were given individual attention. I have been a community college adjunct professor for the past 5 years, teaching physics and physical science.
