I believe that learning can be fun and creative, which is why my approach to teaching often involves the use of visuals and hands on projects to reinforce subject matter. Having been a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader for almost 20 years, I hold a special place in my heart for children and teenagers. I have degrees in civil engineering and have been in the workforce for 17 years. This has given me a great background in math and science. Since 2008 I have taught math courses at Lakeshore Technical College. I teach Math with Business Applications and Algebra for General Chemistry. I currently tutor two students in math--One is a high school sophomore who is struggling with geometry and wants to get his grades up, and the other is trying to get into a military program and needs to beef up his math score on the ASVAB.

While going to college at the UW – Eau Claire, I've been a math and statistics tutor for the past four years. I've also been a Teacher’s Assistant for a statistics Professor where my duties consisted of running review sessions for the class before quizzes and exams along with grading homework and exams. I have completed four statistics courses dealing with different areas of statistics. I also have experience in one-on-one tutoring. Over the past four years I’ve tutored seven students individually meeting at the library to work. Last year, though, I worked with a student who had Cerebral Palsy.
