A Little Bit About Me...

I am a firm believer that every student given an opportunity has the ability to learn. They also must be given an opportunity to learn in the style in which they learn the best, be it visual, auditory or hands-on. I believe and practice a constructivist model of learning. I see multicultural education as a way of reaching all students so that they have an equal opportunity to learn. Students in the future must be prepared for a world job market and tutoring can provide these children with a great opportunity to enhance their skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

My style tends to range based on who I am trying to teach, and I suppose is most accurately labeled as adaptive. I understand that different people learn things in different ways, and so I try to accommodate that with my teaching. For instance if I found that a student learns better visually then I would attempt to use visual cues and examples in lesson plans to make the material as easy to understand as possible. I also believe in keeping a very loose and pleasant atmosphere, and making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe, which I believe also assists in the learning process.
My first major mentoring/teaching experience occurred in college when I began leading study groups and eventually organizing tutoring sessions with a number of my fellow English, Calculus, and Physics students.
