I helped as a volunteer for Second Creek Elementary school in my daughter's classroom. I would often help 1 - 5 children at a separate table with their classroom work. There were often times where each child needed help learning how to read their book, or instruction's on their worksheet, as well as write their names and words. I would help the child sound the words out, and read sentences. I would congratulate the child on a job well done. Working each day with these children made a difference, and soon they were able to sound the words out, and read some of the sentences on their own!
