I believe in a combination of classic and Modern Music I feel that the classics provide the basics and the structure that one needs to learn properly, I feel the modern Music helps with retaining students and creates a sense accomplishment by being able to play music that they hear on a regular bases. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated recently in Elementary education, so I have a broad knowledge in all subject areas. I got in the top 15th percentile on the Praxis content knowledge test. I am well-trained in different teaching techniques as well as Elementary content because I have substituted in classes from special education, to kindergarten, to sixth grade in small group and whole class. I have also tutored students in a college Biology class, one-on-one, and tutored friends when they needed it. I have also taught piano lessons for two years to various students.
I firmly believe that every child is capable of learning hard concepts, they just have to be taught in a way that is applicable to them. So I first like to get to know the student and try to figure out their learning style and teach them according to how they learn. I am currently working on my Mild and Moderate teaching certification. My goal is to work with students with cognitive and specific learning disabilities. I recently completed a Reading, Writing and Math workshop through North Coast Educational Services, which has enabled me to learn different strategies and techniques to help students struggling in reading and math.
My teaching style is one that will allow the students to learn at their own level.
