I love discovering each individual student and the way to help them learn. My goal is to help students become inspired by their subject matter so that it can play a role in their lives as well as their test scores.
I have led several small groups of teenagers and young adults in Biblical studies at Prairie Hill Evangelical Free Church, several musical groups in practicing and performing, and a summer-long book club at Crown College. In gaining my Associate of Arts degree from Crown College, I also led many study groups on subjects ranging from Chemistry to Physics, English Literature to Creative Writing.

My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : I have degrees in Art and Design. I would be able to help greatly with any general art project. I have also taught Introduction to Art at a University level.

Have been tutoring for twenty years, and have also taught on a college level for ten. I have taught in a variety of contexts, such as one-on-one, kid's day camp, online and ongoing workshops. Creative Arts is one of my top subjects!

I've spent 19 years on this earth pouring every day into being creative. I have attended 4+ years of workshops and electives in fields such as Graphic Design and Creative Writing. I would say I've dabbled in most things that involve imagination and my findings were that I needed to share what I learned.
I really love to take a personal approach to each student's learning style, then build course ideas based off of their preferences and goals. In groups, it's good to build trust and friendship to create a safe environment for working. I like to inspire students to work on their skills in the fields they desire as well as applying those practices and foundations in every day life. My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : Experience working with a variety of materials and surfaces.

I believe that the most important aspect to art education is individual expression. Children and artists alike must understand that art is subjective, and the beauty of their work lies in it's meaning and purpose. However, I do believe in working hard to improve on personal studio skills. I teach the fundamentals: line, tone, perspective, space, volume. Once students understand the basics, there will be no limits as to how much they can create. I am also a firm believer in collaboration. I gradauted in 2008 with a Bachelors in Integrated Communication but have currently been working for about three years as Paralegal at a Law Firm in Denver, CO while also interning on the side at a start-up Social Media company. I will be leaving the Law Firm shortly in hopes of pursuing creative writing. While I have had the opportunity to do some writing at the Law Firm, it was, well obviously or not, not creative writing. The goal one day is to become a Copywriter or an author but in the meantime, I would love the opportunity to teach others different writing styles.
