With the experiences of Sylvan, Mathnasium, and High School lessons under my belt, I have combined the best aspects that each has to offer. Rather than holding a student's hand through a lesson and letting them develop a learned helplessness that can add to test anxiety, I use Socratic questioning to help people make important conclusions about topics so that they retain what they are seeing. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style involves getting to know the student as a person first and going from there. Learning how he/she learns something new and what he/she knows and doesn't know quite yet. Every child is different in the way that he/she learns and a person how to figure that out first for a child to be successful.
I tutored elementary students while in high school. I am now an Education major at Midwestern State University and I will graduate in May of 2010. At my last job I helped tutor students and get them ready for test and quizzes etc. I enjoy working with kids I can't think of anything better to do with my time.
