A Little Bit About Me...

From May 2007 to August 2010, I attended Emporia State University where I worked on a dual-bachelor’s degree program in physics and engineering. In August 2010, I transferred to Kansas State University to complete the program. During my last year at Emporia State University, I worked in the Brighton Laboratory, tutoring students in a variety of math courses ranging from Beginning Algebra to Calculus I. In May 2011, I graduated from Emporia State with a Bachelor of Science in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. I am currently working on a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Nuclear Engineering with a Japanese minor at K-State.

As a Mechanical Engineering student I have learned a broad amount of knowledge from physics, math, to technical writing. My math and physic levels are high enough for very complex technical problems. I have spent a large amount of time giving presentations, & writing technical papers. This has honed my grammatical & literary skills. Furthermore, I volunteered as a church representative for 2 yrs, speaking spanish to natives of mexico & teaching them my church's beliefs. I am particularly impressed by "deep learning," a movement that emphasizes critical thinking and inquiry at all levels of teaching. I also believe in high expectations combined with a strong support system, and a common sense approach to the subject matter.
