My teaching style is patient. I don't believe there is any other way. I listen, I watch, and I give helpful suggestions. I answer the student's questions only as far as what is needed. The students that I work with know and understand that they will be doing the work. I create a friendship with my students so that they respect me as more than a tutor and that I respect them more than a student. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a higher education professional who has come to believe that the best way to impact students is to return to teaching. I have a long-standing interest in the philosophy of teaching. I am particularly impressed by "deep learning," a movement that emphasizes critical thinking and inquiry at all levels of teaching. I also believe in high expectations combined with a strong support system, and a common sense approach to the subject matter. I have come to believe that much "teaching" is nothing more than giving students the illusion that they have learned something; this is evidenced by the "cram and regurgitate" approach often taken by students.
