My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Learning about why people did what they did, and how they reacted with art, literature, laws, etc. is fascinating. I can make this subject your favorite!

I excel at identifying each students strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I can quickly adapt or create lessons as needed. Most of my students look forward to our time together, as we have fun, but get our work done.

Different children learn in different ways. Some are visual learners, some are auditory learners and some are kinesthetic learners. I like teaching in whatever way best connects with the student.

In high school I was a student-tutor. I spent three summers in Vacation Bible School at Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina, where I got plenty of experience dealing with children. I am currently enrolled at the University of South Carolina Aiken, where I am majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in Social Studies. I am a hopeful High School teacher.
Engaging with the student and getting them interested in the subject is of the utmost importance. If they do not care, they will not do well. I'm 24 and mother of a 1 year old (he may be with me while tutoring). I'm laid back and believe there is a natural process that must take place for us to learn and absorb new material.
